Snow Brings Super Bowl Travel Troubles to DallasFeb 5th, 2011 | By Roy Rasmussen | Category: Travel
Super Bowl fans on their way to Dallas face travel troubles, as Dallas reels from a week of snow and ice, with more threatening.
Hundreds of flights around the country were cancelled by snowy conditions this week. Authorities are advising travelers to stay home when possible.
That won’t keep Super Bowl fans away, but it does pose problems. Ice falling from the roof of Cowboys Stadium injured at least six people Friday.
Snow is currently again in the forecast for Dallas Sunday. Fans are recalling the Ice Bowl championship that preceded Super Bowl I, when the Packers inched past Dallas in subzero temperatures. Of course Pittsburgh is no stranger to cold weather, either, and the stadium’s retractable roof will be closed, so it’s unclear if the weather favors either team. What is clear is that it doesn’t favor travelers.
